Michigan offense is ‘hitting their stride,’ according to Jim Harbaugh

Michigan’s offense did just enough.
On Saturday’s game against Iowa, defense was the name of the game. Both teams struggled to move the football and there was just one touchdown scored in the 10-3 decision. It was arguably the best outing of the season for the Wolverines’ defense, but the offense struggled to get things moving.
Well, unless you ask Jim Harbaugh, of course. After the game, the Michigan head coach wasn’t quite as harsh on offensive productivity as the fans, media and, well, pretty much everyone else watching the game.
“I really do think they’re hitting their stride,” Harbaugh said, according to Angelique Chengelis of the Detroit News. “Got great faith in our players and our coaches.”
When asked how his offense was improving, Harbaugh responded with ““In every way. That’s what I see.”
Iowa’s defense has played well all season, so nobody expected Michigan to drop 50 points on the Hawkeyes. But after a 10-point performance, saying the offense is “hitting their stride” might be a bit optimistic.
Shea Patterson completed just 14-of-26 pass attempts and the offense rushed for just 120 yards. The Wolverines ended the day with 267 total yards and were just 3-of-13 on third down attempts.
The one positive takeaway is that Michigan only had one turnover, which has been an issue all season long.
But Harbaugh is saying positive with the offense and believes things are getting better in Ann Arbor. It doesn’t sound like he plans on backing off that stance, at least publicly.
