Michigan players discuss playing Hawaii under the lights at the Big House

Ahead of Michigan’s night game against Hawaii, players discussed their excitement to play under the lights at the Big House.

“It’s like Friday night lights on steroids,” quarterback J.J. McCarthy said. “No better feeling.”
While the game isn’t against a rival team, B1G opponent, or a top-25 matchup, playing under the lights of the biggest college football stadium still feels special to the players.
“It’s amplified like crazy just cause of the scene that it’s in,” McCarthy said.
The game will kick off at 8 p.m. ET, just in time for the sun to go down and the bright lights to come on.
“The most fun I’ve ever played in was Washington last year,” linebacker Kalel Mullings said. “Just the crowd being into it, the night game atmosphere, prime-time TV, all that rolled into one is just going to be fun. That game is always fun.”
The Wolverines won that night game against Washington, and they’ll look for success under the lights again on Saturday.
