It’s just another unique experience that Michigan players are absolutely loving.
The “it” is a series that will document Michigan’s 2017 season and give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day lives of student-athletes involved with the program. The university announced that, with the help of Amazon, Big Ten Network and The Montag Group, the docu-series would launch in January 2018 on Amazon Prime.
While the thought of cameras everywhere on campus, documenting practice, home and away games, training regiments, social life and academics could be exhausting, several Wolverines are keeping a positive outlook.
“I think it’s a pretty cool thing that we’re doing,” Tarik Black told 247Sports. “When I was a little kid, I used to watch shows like this, and now I’m going to be part of one. I’m embracing it.”
Henry Poggi said the opportunity was “good for the program, so everyone can see what the inner workings of Michigan football are. I’m sure everyone’s going to be very excited about it.”
Documenting every aspect of a program or franchise isn’t a new concept. Netflix’s Last Chance U and HBO’s Hard Knocks are similar.
Not only will this give fans an inside look at Michigan football, it’s added exposure for Jim Harbaugh and the program, and might give a little more insight to what life is like in Ann Arbor for members of the football team. It could be another potential recruiting tool for the Wolverines.
There’s been no specific release date other than January 2018.
