Michigan is maintaining some serious heat on the recruiting trail as we come out of June, and Sherrone Moore and his staff hit the ground running in July.
On Tuesday, the Wolverines reached into South Carolina for a prime prospect out of SEC country. The player is Julian Walker, a 4-star edge prospect who received over 15 offers in his recruitment, many from prime destinations.
In the end, he joins a top-10 recruiting class for Michigan over South Carolina and North Carolina:

Walker is listed at 6-foot-6 and 252 pounds with impressive length and size for the edge position. The 247 Sports Composite rates Walker as a 4-star recruit, the 20th edge prospect in the country and the 197th overall player, regardless of position.
He was in Ann Arbor for an official visit late in June, and it was enough to seal the deal for Michigan DL coach Lou Esposito. Walker is the 3rd edge commitment for Michigan so far in the 2026 recruiting class, joining top-100 prospect Carter Meadows and 3-star edge Tariq Boney.
Overall, Michigan now holds 19 hard commitments for the cycle, a group that is ranked 8th in the country by the team composite rankings. We’ll see how the Wolverines put some finishing touches on it over the summer and fall.
