Michigan QB JJ McCarthy shares what he wants to prove in Week 2 start

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has a quarterback rotation that some would call unconventional. He calls it biblical, but that’s a different story.
Either way, a week after senior Cade McNamara led the Wolverines to a 51-7 win over Colorado State, sophomore J.J. McCarthy will get the start in No. 4 Michigan’s Week 2 game against the Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors.
That’s it. That’s Harbaugh’s plan. He’ll switch out the two quarterbacks until, presumably, he figures out who can lead the team through the meat of the Big Ten schedule.
While that does allow each quarterback a chance to play, shine, and make their own case on the field, it’s certainly unconventional as far as roster continuity is concerned. One also has to wonder if this ongoing quarterback competition will impact either quarterback’s rhythm or confidence.
Still, at the very least, that doesn’t seem to bother McCarthy. He seems to be ever confident heading into his first start of the season.
In fact, he even feels he has something to prove. That is, according to Alejandro Zúñiga of 247Sports.
I asked JJ McCarthy what he wants to prove this week:
“Everything that I've been trying to prove since I walked in the door here: That I can win football games for this team, and I love every single one of my guys, love every single part of this university.”
