Michigan freshman running back Kingston Davis will be looking for a new place to call home.

According to WTKA’s Sam Webb, Davis’ father had informed him that playing time and a position change had prompted the decision:

Considering the amount of depth Michigan has at the position, Davis likely wouldn’t see much playing time until later in his career. And Davis, a former three-star prospect, wasn’t interested in a potential move to fullback.

Davis played in just two games in 2016 and had just two rushing attempts for 17 yards, both carries coming against Hawai’i.

As a senior at Prattville High School in Alabama, Davis rushed for 1,656 yards and 19 touchdowns on 242 carries. He was one of the top running back prospects from his state and was a member of Jim Harbaugh’s sixth-ranked recruiting class in 2016.

There has been no mention of a potential landing spot for Davis.
