Jim Harbaugh reached into SEC country for his latest addition to the 2019 recruiting class.

On Monday afternoon, 4-star cornerback Jalen Perry announced his commitment to Michigan, becoming the 26th member of the Wolverines’ 2019 class. The Dacula, Georgia native made the announcement via Twitter.

“After lots of prayer and conversations with my family I have made my decision,” Perry wrote. “I will continue my academic and football career at the University of Michigan.”

Perry was in Ann Arbor over the weekend as Michigan closed out its home schedule with a 31-20 victory over Indiana. The Wolverines improved to 10-1 with the win.

One of the top 175 players in the 2017 class according to 247Sports, Perry is tabbed as a top 20 cornerback and is listed as the No. 22 player from Georgia. He had 21 offers during his recruitment, most of those from SEC and ACC programs.

Along with the offer from Michigan, Perry was receiving interest from Ohio State, Penn state, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Clemson, Alabama and Auburn, among others.

Michigan’s 26-member class ranks ninth nationally and is currently No. 1 in the B1G.
