Michigan releases statement after Jim Harbaugh’s suspension confirmed

The University of Michigan released a statement after the suspension of Jim Harbaugh was confirmed.
The coach is facing discipline regarding a widely-publicized sign-stealing scandal. The coach has been suspended for the final 3 regular-season games of the season. Harbaugh is not in attendance at Beaver Stadium on Saturday as the Wolverines prepare to battle with the Penn State Nittany Lions.
“We look forward to presenting our case next week where we intend to demonstrate that the Big Ten has not acted legally or fairly,” the university said in a statement.

The conference stated Michigan had been found in violation of the conference’s Sportsmanship Policy for conducting an” impermissible, in-person scouting operation over multiple years” that “resulted in an unfair competitive advantage that compromised the integrity of competition.”
Harbaugh will be allowed to coach in the postseason and can coach at practices during the week leading up to the games. The Wolverines’ final 3 games are crucial, with battles against Penn State, Maryland, and Ohio State. Harbaugh also missed the first 4 games of the season, but the level of competition was much different then than it will be now.
The Wolverines and Nittany Lions are slated to kick off from Happy Valley at Noon Eastern.
