Amidst an offseason of immense change within its athletic department, Michigan is apparently ready to make its latest move.
According to reports from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, the Wolverines are keying in on Dave Peloquin to be hired as the football program’s next General Manager.
Peloquin boasts an extensive background within both sides of the college athletics realm. He joins Michigan after having worked as the head of the NIL division for agency Athletes First for a year, giving him a strong perspective of what people are looking for on the other side of negotiations.
Prior to his brief time with Athletes First, Peloquin worked for five different Notre Dame coaches in lead off-field roles. His value translated through the Bob Davie, Ty Willingham, Charlies Weis, Brian Kelly and Marcus Freeman eras, as he helped construct a plethora of highly successful rosters.
The move comes after UM cleared house in its athletic department earlier this week, notably parting ways with former GM Sean Magee.
Peloquin joins a Michigan program that has undergone an incredible rollercoaster ride in recent years and is just in search of stability. After a taste of what a dynasty could be during a strong stretch under Jim Harbaugh, the Wolverines fell back down to Earth under the guidance of Sherrone Moore these past two seasons.
