Coming out of high school, Morant was rated as the No. 10 safety in the country by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. He was also the No. 5 player out of the state of New Jersey and No. 165 player nationally for the cycle.
Morant did not see any action as a freshman during the shortened 2020 campaign. In 2021, Morant appeared in 8 games as a contributor on special teams, including during the B1G Championship vs. Iowa and the College Football Playoff vs. Georgia. Morant also played in the secondary against Northern Illinois and registered a tackle vs. Ohio State.
