Michigan football has a former 4-star recruit in the transfer portal as of Friday afternoon.

According to Chris Hummer with 247 Sports, safety Jordan Morant has entered the portal. Morant was a 4-star member of Michigan’s 2020 recruiting class.

Coming out of high school, Morant was rated as the No. 10 safety in the country by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. He was also the No. 5 player out of the state of New Jersey and No. 165 player nationally for the cycle.

Morant did not see any action as a freshman during the shortened 2020 campaign. In 2021, Morant appeared in 8 games as a contributor on special teams, including during the B1G Championship vs. Iowa and the College Football Playoff vs. Georgia. Morant also played in the secondary against Northern Illinois and registered a tackle vs. Ohio State.
