Michigan senior Eli Brooks leaves Michigan State game due to injury

Michigan senior forward Eli Brooks will not return to the Wolverines’ game with Michigan State on Sunday afternoon.
Brooks suffered an apparent ankle injury early in the first half. About five minutes into the game, he went up for a mid-range jumper, and rolled his ankle on the way down.
He left the floor without being able to put weight on his left foot:

Brooks is a very important piece of Michigan’s team on both sides of the ball. He’s averaging 8.9 points and 3.1 rebounds and 3 assists per game this season. He’s also a solid 3-point shooter, hitting them at a 35 percent clip this year.
This is Michigan’s regular season finale. The Wolverines will be the No. 1-seed in the Big Ten Tournament that gets underway on March 10.
Barring a collapse in the conference tournament, Michigan will be a No. 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Wolverines will have to hope that Brooks is able to return by the time the Big Dance gets underway.
Selection Sunday is on March 14.
