A veteran member of Michigan’s basketball team has decided to look at his options outside of Ann Arbor.

Senior forward Brandon Johns has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from Rainer Sabin of the Detroit Free Press. He will have one year of eligibility remaining at his next destination.

Last season, Johns played in 31 of Michigan’s 34 games and made 9 starts. He averaged 3.2 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest as the Wolverines finished the year with a 19-15 record, which included a trip to the Sweet 16.

Johns’ best outing of the year came in a December win over Nebraska, scoring a career-best 20 points in the victory. It was also one of the 9 games he started in the 2021-22 season.

The most productive season for Johns came when he was a sophomore in 2019-20. That year, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 6 points and 3.9 rebounds for the Wolverines while playing in 30 games and making 11 starts.

Johns played in over 100 career games with the Maize and Blue and started 25 times. He’ll leave Ann Arbor with 439 points and 272 rebounds over his four years.
