Michigan is one of four teams who will be part of the inaugural Jumpman Invitational, which is set to take place in Charlotte beginning in December of 2022.

The event will be a two-day basketball series that features North Carolina, Florida and Oklahoma alongside the Wolverines. Those four schools were the first to sign partnerships with Jordan Brand.

Both the men’s and women’s teams from both schools will participate. There will be two games per day from Dec. 20-21.

The Charlotte Hornets’ home arena will host the event and ESPN has broadcasting rights.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring what we believe will quickly become the marquee college basketball event of the holiday season to the Queen City,” executive director of the Charlotte Sports Foundation Danny Morrison said in a release. “These are four of the most storied and competitive programs in the game, and we’re looking forward to the interconference play.”

All four schools have signed a three-year contract to play in the Jumpman Invitational. Michigan will play a round-robin of those opponents over the course of the three years.

The event could add more Jordan Brand schools in future years, per the release.
