Michigan State is getting set to resume the basketball schedule on Wednesday after the Christmas break. Unfortunately, the Spartans are expected to be without some players for that game.

According to Graham Couch with the Lansing State Journal, Michigan State will be without Marcus Bingham Jr., Max Christie, Pierre Brooks, and Steven Izzo for Wednesday’s game against High Point due to COVID-19. Bingham and Christie have started every game this season with Bingham the second-leading scorer and leading rebounder for the Spartans.

“We had some guys that weren’t feeling good after Detroit, or were on the trip and our travel party and then experienced some of the symptoms,” Izzo said, according to Couch. Michigan State last played against Oakland on Dec. 21 in Detroit.

Hopefully, those players will be able to rejoin the team shortly after Wednesday. The Spartans resume B1G play with games at Northwestern and vs. Nebraska during the first week of 2022.
