Michigan State’s 2021 recruiting class has added a little East Coast flavor.
On Monday, the Spartans received a verbal commitment from three-star cornerback Antoine Booth. The 6-foot, 185-pound defensive back is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and attends DeMatha Catholic, which has a major reputation for producing elite-level talent on the football field.
Booth announced his commitment to Michigan State via Twitter. He selected the Spartans over six other programs, including B1G East rivals Maryland and Rutgers.
“For the next 3-4 years I’d like to announce my commitment to Michigan State University,” Booth wrote.

Michigan State now has six members in its 2021 recruiting class, with Booth being just the second out-of-state prospect. Gabe Nealy, a three-star safety from Miami, is the only other non-Michigan recruit to verbally commit.
Per 247Sports, Booth ranks as one of the top 30 players out of the state of Maryland and is the No. 78 cornerback in the 2021 class. Along with the three B1G programs, Booth also received offers from Buffalo, UMass, Temple and Virginia.
The Spartans now have a six-man recruiting class during the 2021 cycle, the first with Mel Tucker as the team’s head coach. All six pledges have come within the month of April.
