Michigan State coach Mel Tucker has a simple message for his team going forward.
“Guys are going to give effort, and if they don’t give effort they’re going to be excused,” Tucker said on Tuesday.
“You come here ready to work, and get better. If you’re not ready to do that then this is not for you, this is not easy, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.”

The Spartans have had a rough start.
After four games, Tucker is beginning to feel he knows what all of his players can and cannot do, and each day he’s putting them to the test. Other than the lone victory over rival Michigan, the Spartans have failed to come within single-digits of their other three opponents.
His message has been clear to compete or leave.
The Spartans hoping to take the field on Saturday against Maryland — the Terrapins had their game last week with Ohio State canceled due to COVID-19 issues.
Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET, Saturday Nov. 21 in College Park.
