Michigan State fans are absolutely trashing Saturday’s performance against Rutgers

That is not the kind of debut Mel Tucker had to be hoping for, to say the least.
On paper, it appeared to be an ideal opponent for Tucker to get his feet wet and get his first B1G win as head coach of the Spartans. Unfortunately, Michigan State surrendered seven turnovers and saw Rutgers control the game from start to finish after entering the game as a double-digit underdog.
It was the first time Rutgers hit 38 points in a B1G game since 2015 and just the fifth B1G game ever when Rutgers scored 38 points. It also became just the first conference win for Rutgers since 2017.
After the ugly loss, plenty of Michigan State fans took to social media with their brutal feelings:

Imagine paying 5.7 million dollars to lose to Rutgers. A team which is 0-18 in the big 10 the past two years.

If Lombardi starts against UM…there might be a chair or two thrown against the TV

Lucky fans aren’t there. Wish we could boo you off the field. Cancel the season.

Never have seen 7 turn overs in a game. I could have spent my whole life without seeing this

You should get kicked out of the Big Ten for losing to Rutgers. The dark days of MSU are here again.😩

Embarrassing! Players and Coaches. And I say that with a green heart 💚💔

That seals the deal. I am no longer a Michigan State fan. This team is a pure and utter embarrassment to the city of Lansing. I officially will not be renewing my plan next season nor will I watch on tv ever again. I’m going to Michigan Tech where they know how to run a team

Awesome to see what 5.5M/year got us. Great job!
