Michigan State football gave fans a look at their 2nd scrimmage. The 2022 season can’t get here soon enough for the Spartans.
It looks like Mel Tucker let Payton Thorne air it out on Sunday. Thorne had a breakout season last year (3,420 yards passing, 27 TDs), and picked up right where he left off. He hit a multitude of wideouts down the field for big plays.

In the running game, fans got to see a little bit of transfer RB Jalen Berger. He comes to Michigan State from Wisconsin. The Spartans also got to see Harold Joiner running the ball. Receivers Germie Bernard, Sebastian Brown, and Keon Coleman all got some targets as well.
It’ll be interesting to see how the team uses Berger and Colorado transfer Jarek Broussard in the running game after losing Kenneth Walker III. Walker is now a member of the Seattle Seahawks.
Michigan State opens the 2022 campaign with a home game against Western Michigan on Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
