The first commitment of the Mel Tucker era at Michigan State is officially in.

On Sunday, three-star running back Jordan Simmons signed his National Letter of Intent, making his commitment to the Spartans official. The native of Powder Springs, Georgia had delayed signing on the dotted line when Mark Dantonio opted to step down a day before National Signing Day.

Simmons tweeted out several photos showing his commitment to MSU. He also wrote “It’s Official,” in his Twitter post.

Simmons’ commitment is the final one of the 2020 class for Michigan State, barring any late additions in the cycle.

Simmons is a 6-foot, 192-pound running back from Georgia who had nearly two dozen offers during the recruiting cycle. He picked Michigan State over Georgia, LSU, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, Maryland and several other programs, according to 247Sports. Simmons was ranked as the No. 43 running back in the 2020 class.

Michigan State’s 2020 recruiting class ranked 43rd nationally and 10th in the B1G.
