A former four-star prospect and running back who started his career at Auburn is on his way to East Lansing.
Harold Joiner, a 6-foot-3 and 218 lbs. running back out of Birmingham, Alabama, revealed Thursday evening that he is committing to Mel Tucker and the Spartans. Joiner was a member of the 2018 recruiting class and was the No. 5 RB for the cycle according to 247 Sports.
Joiner shared his commitment on Twitter:

Joiner did not appear in a game during 2020 as a redshirt sophomore. He rushed for 94 yards and 7.8 yards per carry in 2019 and also caught six passes for 128 yards.
Joiner’s experience and versatility will be a more than welcome addition in East Lansing. Michigan State averaged just over 90 yards per game on the ground in 2020 and posted a measly 2.7 yards per carry.
Jordan Simmons and Connor Heyward led the team in rushing at 219 and 200 yards respectively, but neither demonstrated the kind of big-play explosiveness that Joiner has shown.
