Michigan State landed a huge commitment on Saturday night.
Kalon Gervin, a four-star athlete out o Cass Tech High in Detroit, Michigan, announced his commitment to the Spartans on Championship Week. He made the announcement via Twitter.

Gervin is a top 200 prospect and is ranked as the second-best player out of Michigan, according to 247Sports. He’s now the highest-rated prospect of Michigan State’s 2018 recruiting class.
He becomes the 19th prospect to commit to Michigan State. Right now, the Spartans rank 30th nationally and fifth in the B1G with their 2018 class.
Gervin had 40 total offers according to 247Sports, including offers from 11 B1G programs. He chose Michigan State over Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Alabama and Oklahoma.
