Michigan State OL Spencer Brown was ejected from the game against Michigan for a late hit. He has now been suspended for the first half of Michigan State’s game in Week 9.
On the play, Brown can be seen diving on top of a Michigan player on the ground. Brown also dove his helmet into the back of the player’s head.
Wednesday afternoon, the Big Ten announced that Brown has been suspended for the first half of MSU’s game against Minnesota. The B1G cited the league’s Sportsmanship Policy and Brown’s ejection due to a “flagrant personal foul” in the game.

Brown is a veteran player for the Spartans, and his absence leaves the offense shorthanded for the game against the Gophers. Michigan State is 2-5 on the season and riding a 5-game losing streak.
The Spartans are winless against Power 5 competition this season and face a Minnesota team coming off a low-scoring win over Iowa last weekend.
