Andre Welch is hitting the transfer portal, the Michigan State running back seemingly in search of playing time after a 2020 season where he fell out of favor.
Welch played in just one game this past season, Michigan State’s 52-12 home loss on Dec. 5 Ohio State. A former walk-on, Welch didn’t register a carry this past season for the Spartans. He has two career carries for seven yards, both coming in the 2018 season.

He has 11 games played at Michigan State over four years. He’s played in three games the past two seasons. He made a career-best five appearances in 2018.
Welch was caught in a numbers crunch in East Lansing with freshman Jordon Simmons and redshirt junior Connor Heyward getting most of the carries.
