Michigan State is set to return a pair of key players against rival Michigan on Saturday. Spartans starting left tackle Stanton Ramil and veteran safety Nikai Martinez are the players in question.

Martinex and Ramil have not played since Michigan State lost to USC on September 20.

Martinez had a good season in 2023 and 2024 for UCF and Michigan State, respectively. He notched 3 interceptions in 2023 and 2 in 2024 and finished last season with 51 tackles and 2 pass deflections. At the very least, he’ll be a much-needed depth piece against Michigan’s offense.

Getting Ramil back for this one is big, too. Michigan enters Week 9 with 17 sacks on the year, and protecting Aidan Chiles will be paramount to the Spartans picking up a much-needed win.

And as mentioned, this one is absolutely crucial for the Spartans. Michigan State has had a brutal schedule to start Big Ten play and have yet to pick up a win against the conference. However, they get this one at home and will look to put their 4-game losing streak to bed at 7:30 p.m. on NBC.
