Michigan State standout CB to miss significant time due to injury

Michigan State cornerback Josiah Scott will be sidelined for two months due to an injury, Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio said during the team’s media day on Monday.
No specifics were given on the injury, but Dantonio said that Scott was injured during a non-contact drill. He was expected to be a starter at cornerback again in 2018.

Scott had a stellar freshman season, recording 30 tackles and a pair of interceptions in 2017, playing in 12 games. He was named to the Freshman All-America team by ESPN at the end of the year.
Dantonio said that potential replacements for Scott include junior Josh Butler, true freshman Kalon Gervin, redshirt freshman Shakur Brown and true freshman Davion Williams.
Michigan State opens the season on Friday, Aug. 31 at home against Utah State.
