Michigan State has a new all-black uniform in its arsenal, but the program has yet to use the combination this football season. That could change in Saturday’s massive rivalry game.

Dubbed the “Shadow” uniform, the Spartans unveiled a detailed look at the all-black combination during the offseason. That uniform features white numbers outlined in green on a black jersey and is complete with a black lid with green accents.

Michigan State has yet to announce the uniform combination for Saturday’s game against Michigan but a big hint was provided Tuesday evening. It sure looks like the “Shadow” could make its first appearance against the Wolverines.

The Spartans enter the game as +24 underdogs, so we’ll see if the potential of a new uniform can provide some juice. A change at quarterback also infused a little bit of life against Rutgers with Katin Houser making his first career start. The Wolverines beat the Spartans with a 29-7 final score a season ago, but MSU had captured the last 2 prior to last season’s defeat. The series is evenly split going back to 2017 with 3 wins for each program in that time span.
