Michigan State will not be losing one player after all.

After announcing his intention to transfer last month, linebacker Darius Snow has decided to return to East Lansing for the 2024 season.

Snow has had an injury-plagued college career to this point. He flashed a ton of potential while starting 9 games in the 2021 season. The linebacker racked up 81 tackles and an interception.

However, Snow’s career suffered a setback when the backer suffered a serious leg injury in the 2022 season-opener. This injury caused Snow to miss the remainder of the 2022 season and the beginning of the 2023 season.

Snow appeared in just 4 games in 2023, mostly in a reserve role. The linebacker announced his intention to transfer back in November but now will backtrack on that decision.

In Snow’s statement, he admits he made the decision to enter the portal before “giving coach (Jonathan) Smith and Co. the chance they deserve.” Clearly, whatever the conversation the linebacker had with his new coach changed his mind.

“After multiple conversations with my family and Coach Smith, I decided to withdraw my name from the transfer portal earlier today and take that chance,” explained Snow.

Snow also added that he has “completely recovered” from the injuries that have derailed his career. The return of Snow will give Smith just another weapon at his disposal in his inaugural season.
