Michigan State without key WR vs. Ohio State

Ohio State is down a remarkable 23 players for Saturday’s tilt against Michigan State. But that doesn’t mean Sparty is going into that matchup with perfect health.

Michigan State will be without standout wide receiver Ricky White as the Spartans try to make it two upsets in as many weeks.

White, a freshman wide receiver out of Marietta, Georgia, has burst onto the scene for Mel Tucker’s team. After just one catch for five yards in the season-opener against Rutgers, White became a sensation with eight catches for 196 yards and a touchdown in Michigan State’s upset win against Michigan.

Since then, teams appear to have keyed on White as he’s made just one catch for 22 yards in his two most recent games. Still, White has proven himself to be a playmaker who needs to be paid attention to.

To go along with that, Michigan State is going to need all hands on deck to pull off this upset. Not having White is just one less option for Rocky Lombardi and the Spartan offense.
