Michigan TE officially declares for NFL Draft

It’s official, Michigan tight end Zach Gentry is entering the 2019 NFL Draft.
Gentry made the announcement on Wednesday evening, becoming the second Wolverine to make that decision on the day. Cornerback David Long also announced he would pursue the NFL Draft. Gentry made the announcement via his Instagram account.
“After prayer and careful consideration and discussion with family, friends and coaches, I have decided to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft,” Gentry wrote.
Gentry has been an effective part of Michigan’s passing attack each of the last two seasons. This fall, the tight end caught 32 passes for 514 yards and two touchdowns. He had a particularly big day against Maryland, hauling in seven receptions for 112 yards.
He rounded out his career with two catches for 39 yards in the Peach Bowl against Florida. Michigan lost 41-15, finishing the season 10-3.
Last season, he totaled 303 yards and two touchdowns on 17 catches. He leaves Ann Arbor with 817 receiving yards and four total touchdowns.
Gentry joins defensive lineman Rashan Gary and linebacker Devin Bush Jr. to forgo his final season and pursue the NFL.
