Michigan vs. USC was hailed as the Game of the Week in Week 4 as a major Big Ten matchup, and that game lived up to the hype.

In the first-ever conference game for the Trojans as a B1G member, Lincoln Riley and his team went toe-to-toe with the reigning national champions in Ann Arbor. While Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines were able to deliver a game-winning drive, it was a great matchup of what could be in store throughout the B1G this season.

CBS drew the broadcast for the game in the 3:30 pm ET time slot, and it delivered. According to a Tuesday press release, CBS generated 6.321 million viewers as the top game of Week 4 on any network.

The game also yielded impressive numbers compared to CBS’s Week 4 game a season ago. The Michigan vs. USC matchup produced a 37% increase from the 2023 numbers, a game that featured a pair of top-15 SEC teams in Ole Miss and Alabama.

The win by the Wolverines peaked with over 10 million viewers on Saturday, and the streaming broadcast on Paramount+ delivered the most-streamed college football game to date during the month of September.

It’s a great sign for the new media rights deal between the B1G and multiple partners, especially with even bigger and better matchups to come down the road:
