A few Michigan signees will have the benefit of getting their feet wet with their new program over the next two weeks before the Wolverines depart to Orlando for a Citrus Bowl matchup with Alabama.
Michigan recruiting director Matt Dudek told Jon Jansen on the In the Trenches podcast that six of the new signees in the Wolverines’ 2020 class will be in Ann Arbor this weekend and will partake in some bowl preparation during that time.
Specifically, Dudek said running back Blake Corum, linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green, offensive lineman Zak Zinter, safety Makari Paige and cornerback Andre Seldon will be able to participate in three days of practice.
“Because the way the rules are written,” Dudek said. “So, we’re going to get three days of practice.
“We’re not putting them in team (workouts); we’re not going to put them in one-on-ones. This is the first time it’s ever happened. …I’m excited.”
According to MLive.com, Michigan is scheduled to leave for Orlando on Dec. 26. The Wolverines are 9-3 and are taking on a 10-2 Crimson Tide team that missed the College Football Playoff for the first time since its inception in 2014.
Michigan inked 22 commits on Wednesday, the first day of the Early Signing Period. The 2020 class ranks 12th nationally and second in the B1G.
The three practices will serve as a great opportunity for those early signees to see what the college level is like before spring football gets underway in a few months.
