What have the headlines said about Michigan so far since the season begun?
Negative this, negative that. Michigan isn’t living up to the hype. How could the Wolverines almost lose to Army?
Part of it is the new offense and not having wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones and offensive lineman Jon Runyan. Not having stars on offense while overhauling how your offense works may prove to be difficult. In the first two weeks, that has proven to be true.
On Monday, news came out that Runyan — a former All-Big Ten left tackle — may in fact be back for Michigan’s Week 4 matchup against Wisconsin:

“We think (Runyan) was (able to play),” Harbaugh said after the game against Army. “Jon was just on the verge of being ready to play. He could have played, and looked good in practice. Just felt like we could give him another week to make sure this wasn’t something that was (a) season-ongoing problem.”
Michigan needs Runyan and having a bye week in Week 3 will help. Having the extra time off always helps players rest up, and for the Wolverines, they need both rest and a wake-up call.
Perhaps they got that against Army.
Michigan-Wisconsin will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21 in Madison, Wis.
