Mike Smith’s stat line was enough to make the Michigan guard remember his performance in Friday’s 79-66 win over Maryland in the B1G Tournament. But to make the game even better, he’s now a conference record holder.

Smith finished the quarterfinal game with an impressive stat line: 18 points, 15 assists, 5 rebounds and 0 turnovers in 37 minutes of action. Those 15 dimes the guard dished out is a B1G Tournament single-game record.

By halftime, Smith was closing in on a double-double. He had 9 assists and scored 6 points through the first 20 minutes of the game. He was more of a threat as a shooter in the second half, helping lead the Wolverines to a big win.

Michigan played Maryland three times this season and defeated the Terps on all three occasions.

If Smith continues to play as well as he did on Friday, Michigan is going to be one tough team to face for the rest of the B1G Tournament and in the NCAA Tournament.
