Mickey Joseph has a chance to land the permanent head coaching job at Nebraska, and he’s only speaking facts. Damned anyone else’s feelings in the process.
Joseph was asked on Tuesday about the defensive adjustments made by the Huskers since he was named interim head coach in place of Scott Frost. Joseph gave a brutally honest, yet fair assessment of the situation.
“We made a change at defensive coordinator,” Joesph said. “That’s the change.” Mic drop Mickey coming in hot.

Nebraska fired Erik Chinander following a 49-14 loss to Oklahoma in Week 3. The Sooners totaled 580 yards of offense to go along with 7 touchdowns en route to one of the biggest lopsided games of the college football season.
Since special teams coordinator Bill Busch took over the play-calling, the Huskers have rebounded. They picked up a 35-21 win over Indiana before rallying Friday night to defeat Rutgers.
In both games, Nebraska’s defense allowed less than 350 yards of offense. The Huskers also forced 4 total turnovers during the span — 3 of which came against the Scarlet Knights in a 14-13 win.
The Huskers will have a chance to improve to 4-3 on the season this Saturday against Purdue. The kickoff from Ross-Ade Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. E.T.
