Mike Hart jokes no more rushing TDs for Blake Corum

Mike Hart has held Michigan’s rushing touchdown record for over a decade. The record is in danger, but Hart joked it won’t change hands if he has any say.
Hart recorded 41 rushing touchdowns in his decorated Wolverine career as a 4-year starter from 2004-to-2007. Now the running back’s coach and run game coordinator on Jim Harbaugh’s staff, Hart could preserve his own record if he did not have the team’s best interest in mind.
In a Tuesday media appearance, Hart joked to reporters that U-M standout Blake Corum won’t be scoring any more rushing TDs. Corum is 1 rushing score shy of Hart’s record entering the Week 6 clash with Minnesota.

This season, Corum has rushed 74 times for 525 yards (5.7 yards per carry) and 9 touchdowns. Corum logged 16 carries for 74 yards and 1 score in Michigan’s 45-7 thumping of Nebraska.
Corum has a decent chance of breaking the record against the Gophers. This season, he has scored multiple TDs in Michigan’s games against Rutgers, Bowling Green and UNLV. Saturday’s game is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
