Mike Hart’s entire household is invested in the Michigan-Michigan State rivalry.
When speaking to the media, the running backs coach revealed his son has his own mini version of the Paul Bunyan Trophy that he likes displaying.
When Michigan fell to Michigan State last season, Hart had no interest in seeing the mini-trophy.
Mike Hart says his son has a mini Paul Bunyan Trophy that he likes to display. Said after last year, he told his son “we lost. Put that thing away.”
Said in addition to the team wanting the trophy back, Hart wants his son to be able to display his again in the house.

2021 was the 2nd-straight season in which the Spartans earned the trophy. Hart and the rest of the Wolverines are seeking to end the streak and bring Paul Bunyan back to Ann Arbor. Hart is also hoping his son can bring his trophy back out.
Losing to the Spartans is not something that Hart is accustomed to. As a player, Hart never lost to Michigan State.
