Maryland has made three more staff hires this offseason.

On Tuesday afternoon, head coach Mike Locksley announced the addition of Brian Stewart, Ron Zook and Zohn Burden to the staff for the upcoming season. The addition of those three individuals should complete the Terrapins’ coaching staff as the team prepares for spring football.

Stewart will be the defensive coordinator and safeties coach at Maryland, a position he held with the university from 2012-14. He was most recently the cornerbacks coach at Baylor (2020) and also had recent stops with the Detroit Lions as the defensive backs coach (2018-19), Rice as the defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach (2017) and Nebraska as defensive backs coach (2015-16).

Zook will fulfill multiple roles as the associate head coach, special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach. He had previously been an analyst for Locksley’s Terrapins and brings head coaching experience at Florida (2002-04) and Illinois (2005-11).

Burden has been named the wide receivers coach after working at Virginia Tech for five seasons. He was the wide receivers coach in 2015 before being named the running backs coach from 2016-19.

Maryland finished the 2020 season with a 2-3 record.
