Maryland got a big win on Saturday against regional rival West Virginia.

Maryland won a back and forth battle against West Virginia, where the final score was 30-24.

Head Coach Mike Locksley is in his 3rd season with the Terrapins, and getting off to a 1-0 start is just what they needed.

Locksley in 3 years at Maryland is 7-17. Locksley wanted to thank Terp nation for coming out and showing support for the team in their win against the Mountaineers.

QB Taulia Tagovailoa on Saturday was 26-36 for a 72% completion rate for 3 touchdowns and o interceptions.

Maryland last season was 2-3 in the abbreviated 2020 season. They had 3 games canceled last year due to COVID-19. The Terrapins finished 4th in the B1G East standings.

Maryland this year has 4 AP Top-25 opponents they are facing, 3 of which are at home No. 18 Iowa, No.19 Penn State and No.17 Indiana. The only AP Top-25 team they meet on the road is the No.4 Ohio State Buckeyes.
