Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys overwhelmed the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. After a wild overtime win in Buffalo, there was no comeback in the cards this week for Kirk Cousins and his team as they faced a 23-3 halftime deficit and ultimately fell 40-3.

Defensively, the Cowboys saw another strong performance from Micah Parsons, who now has double-digit sacks after recording 2 against the Vikings on Sunday. The former Penn State star has hit the 2-sack mark 5 times this season and 8 times in his career, the quickest in NFL history to hit that plateau since sacks became an official statistic in 1982.

“You know, his urgency, it was at a different level. He’s still young. He has the ability to be elite in there. This is another standard type game for him that he’ll need to continue to play to,” McCarthy said after the game, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.

Parsons is now up to 23.0 sacks through 26 career games. The 2021 1st-round pick continues to pay off for the Cowboys and appears set to eclipse his 13.0 sacks he totaled as a rookie.
