Mike Sainristil makes leaping grab for 2nd pick of game for Michigan

Mike Sainristil had a game to remember in snuffing out an upset bid by Maryland on Saturday.
Sainristil made a leaping grab to pick out Taulia Tagovailoa as Maryland faced 3rd down and 18 from its own 2-yard line. It was Sainristil’s 5th interception of the year, and possibly a dagger to Maryland’s comeback hopes.
The talented defensive back enjoyed several midseason honors after he twice shared Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance against Rutgers, and at Michigan State.
The Michigan defense bottled up Maryland for much of the game as the Terps were 5-for-12 on 3rd down conversions, and the Wolverines then added a late safety with less than 4 minutes to go.
Michigan accounted for 3 turnovers as it also secured a fumble. Michigan also delivered 2 safeties for the first time in at least 20 years.
Maryland also had just 19 rushing yards with 3 minutes to play.
