Mike Woodson assesses ugly win over Army: ‘It’s not our norm’

Mike Woodson and Indiana basketball are struggling.
The Hoosiers pulled out a win Sunday night at Assembly Hall, but just barely. Indiana squeaked past an upset-minded Army squad that is 0-2 on the season, winning 72-64. But that final looks better than it was.
The Hoosiers and Black Knights were tied with just over 3 minutes remaining in regulation. The Hoosiers finished with 18 total turnovers. A better team that Army likely wins that game.
Woodson addressed reporters following the game and fielded a question about the turnovers, which has been a trend for Indiana to start the season. And still, the Hoosiers are 2-0.
But that doesn’t mean Woodson is going to be happy about it.
Woodson to Don Fischer on IU’s 18 turnovers: “It’s not our norm. They pressured us, banged us around some. I’m telling our guys, we haven’t even gotten to the Big Ten yet, hopefully this will prepare us.” #iubb

It’s not just the men who are struggling. Indiana’s women’s team got blasted by Stanford earlier Sunday, falling 96-64.
The men may face a similar fate next weekend against UConn, the reigning national champs. In other words, there’s a lot of mistakes to clean up in the next 7 days.
Before the Hoosiers take on the Huskies they have a Thursday matchup against Wright State, which starts at 7 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network.
