Trayce Jackson-Davis moved to No. 5 on the all-time Indiana scoring list during Saturday’s win over Illinois.
Indiana head coach Mike Woodson was at Assembly Hall to watch his top 5 status change to top 6. The former Indiana great was surpassed by one of his own players. It was inevitable at some point.
Woodson was asked about Jackson-Davis’ day for the history books postgame Saturday. He joked about the similarity between he and his student.
Mike Woodson on Trayce Jackson-Davis passing him as fifth all-time scoring: “The beauty about Trayce and Mike Woodson, we don’t shoot threes (laughter)…I couldn’t be more proud of Trayce today….it’s special.” #iubb

He’s likely to pass AJ Guyton soon for No. 4, too. Jackson-Davis totaled 26 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. No player across the past 25 seasons has more than 1 of such performances (25, 10, 5).
