Mike Woodson not backing down from putting big expectations on the Hoosiers

Indiana Men’s Hoosiers head coach Mike Woodson is not backing down on expectations of B1G titles and a national championship going into the 2022-2023 CBB season. During a Thursday press conference, Woodson reiterated he came to Bloomington to win titles.
Woodson believes those expectations should not scare players that have decided to come to Indiana:
Woodson: “I can’t say this loud enough, guys: I came back here to win Big Ten titles and a national title. I’m not gonna push the team in any other direction. If they’re scared of it, they shouldn’t be here.” #iubb

In his first year at his alma mater last season, Woodson coached the team to an overall record of 21-14 (9-11 in B1G play). Indiana defeated Wyoming 66-58 in the First Four round but went on to lose to No. 5 Saint Mary’s 82-53 in the Round of 64 of the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
Woodson was the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks for six seasons and three seasons of the New York Knicks in the NBA.
Indiana is returning its top three scorers from last season, including forward Trayce Jackson-Davis who averaged 18.3 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per game.
The Hoosiers are projected to be a No. 3 seed East bracket, according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.
