Mike Woodson updates rehab work for Xavier Johnson, Race Thompson

Mike Woodson is still without a couple of key pieces for Indiana. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like he expects them to return any time soon.
Xavier Johnson was injured in the loss to Kansas and has not been back since. Meanwhile, Race Thompson was injured during a loss to Iowa and is also sidelined.
On Tuesday, Woodson addressed those two players and their rehab progress. Unfortunately, Woodson said both players are strictly focusing on rehab and are not back to practicing at this stage.
“Bottom line is, they’re not on the basketball floor,” said Woodson per Zach Osterman with the Indy Star. “They’re in rehab. They’re in the training room doing rehab.”
Coming out of the first of the year, Indiana dropped 3 straight games in B1G play to fall out of the top 25. The Hoosiers rebounded with a home upset of Wisconsin and now face a road trip to Illinois this week.
While Indiana can compete with the roster as currently constructed, there’s no denying the Hoosiers need to be at full strength to try and pull off a deep run in the postseason.
Mike Woodson says neither Xavier Johnson nor Race Thompson has resumed any practice work: “Bottom line is, they’re not on the basketball floor. They’re in rehab. They’re in the training room doing rehab.”
Says he thinks it’ll be a while before either is. #iubb
