Miles Sanders, former Penn State RB, notches first 1,000 yard season vs. Giants

Miles Sanders continues to progress in the best season of his NFL career. In Week 14 at the New York Giants, the former Penn State Nittany Lion rushed for 1,000 yards this season for the first time in his professional career.

With 1 quarter left in the game against the Giants, Sanders has rushed for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries. This is a season-high of rushing yards accounted for all season. His previous high was in the 40-33 win home win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 13 when he rushed for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns on 21 carries.

Sanders is the first player to rush for 1000 yards in a season since LeSean McCoy in 2014, according to Shamus Clancy of PhillyVoice. That season, McCoy rushed for 1,139 yards and 5 touchdowns on 312 carries.

Sanders was selected by Philadelphia in the second round (53rd overall pick) in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Penn State.

Philadelphia becomes the first team this season to secure a post in the NFL Playoffs with a win over New York.
