Miles Sanders is landing with a new team in NFL free agency, a move that was expected to happen over the past couple of days.

On Tuesday, reports surfaced that the Philadelphia Eagles were signing free agent running back Rashaad Penny. Sanders quickly sent out a message to Philadelphia fans after beginning his NFL career with the Eagles out of Penn State.

On Wednesday, news officially broke that Sanders was landing with the Carolina Panthers out of the NFC South. Financial terms of the deal have not been announced, but Sanders will join a new-look Carolina team for the 2023 season.

What’s next for Sanders?

Sanders joins the Panthers after a versatile performance with the Eagles, including a career-high 1,269 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns during the 2022 season. He has over 4,600 yards of offense in his career with a trio of seasons with at least 1,000 yards from scrimmage.

With Carolina, Sanders joins a rebuilding program that has added QB Andy Dalton, re-signed center Bradley Bozeman and landed TE Hayden Hurst via free agency. The Panthers have also traded up to the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, presumably to draft the top quarterback available.
