Miles Sanders and Damar Hamlin have been good friends ever since their high school days. The two facetimed each other for the first time since Hamlin’s collapse on Monday Night Football.

Sanders stated that what happened to Hamlin scared him and that the former Penn State RB is glad the Bills safety is ok. Hamlin had a breathing tube removed and was able to speak on his own on Friday.

“It scared the shit out of me … I’m just happy that he’s ok,” said Sanders. “I can’t really put it into words.”

Sanders also said that he joked with Hamlin during the call. Sanders called Hamlin the “most famous person in the world” after the life-threatening incident.

Sanders and Hamlin both played high school football together in the Pittsburgh area, but did not attend the same school. The two didn’t leave the state for college either, as Sanders went to Penn State and Hamlin played for Pitt. Unfortunately they are not in the same state again at the professional level, but they remain close friends to this day.

It’s good to see Sanders and Hamlin communicate once again.
