Miller, Moss, Woody Marks and the USC Trojans ended their 3-game losing skid on Friday night with a 42-20 win over Rutgers.

Friday night’s matchup was between a pair of programs which started the season strong but fell off in a major way entering conference play. While one losing streak ends, another continues – the Scarlet Knights have now lost 4 straight after winning 4 straight to start the year.

As mentioned above, Miller Moss and Woody Marks were the stars of the show last night. Moss completed 20 of his 28 passing attempts for 308 yards with 2 touchdowns. Moss was also able to do some damage with his legs, scoring this pivotal touchdown with 6 minutes remaining in the 3rd:

Marks had a fantastic game on the ground, rushing for a game-high 94 yards with 3 trips to the end zone. The senior running back also had 5 receptions for 48 yards.

Even more impressive? All 3 of Marks’ touchdowns came in the first half:

The word of the day for the Trojans was “efficiency.” USC only attempted 6 3rd downs on Friday and converted 3 of them. In other words, 20 of the Trojans’ first downs came on first or second down. On top of that, the Trojans had the ball for 23 minutes compared to Rutgers’ 36 minutes despite both teams hovering around 440 total yards on the evening.

USC is back in action next Saturday in Seattle against Washington. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
