Fans swarmed Minneapolis for Saturday’s Final Four, as Auburn, Michigan State, Texas Tech and Virginia all competed for a spot in the national championship.
U.S Bank Stadium announced that the attendance for the two games on Saturday night — Auburn-Virginia and Michigan State-Texas Tech — was 72,711. That total was a new record for the venue. That figure is also up from last year’s semifinal round total, when 68,257 people attended last year in San Antonio.

U.S. Bank Stadium is home to the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings. It’s capacity for football games comes in at 66,665. The 2017 Final Four semifinal round is still the most-attended, as 77,612 showed up at University of Phoenix Stadium.
This year’s basketball season will conclude on Monday, when Virginia and Texas Tech compete for the national championship. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:20 p.m. ET and the game will be aired on CBS.
