Minnesota is enjoying a nice weekend on the recruiting trail with the Early Signing Period approaching.

On Sunday, the Gophers received two additional commitments to the 2020 class. Three-star defensive lineman Jalen Logan-Redding and three-star offensive lineman Tyrell Lawrence both gave their verbal pledges to Minnesota over the weekend.

Logan-Redding was initially committed to Missouri, but opted to pledge to Minnesota instead on Sunday. He’s a Columbia, Missouri native, who ranks as the No. 15 player from his home state and is listed as one of the top 35 weak-side defensive ends in the 2020 class.

He held offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Purdue, along with Minnesota and Missouri.

Lawrence is also a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports. He received interest from five programs, including four FBS schools. The 6-foot-7, 344-pound offensive tackle received offers from UMass, Indiana, Tennessee and Howard, along with Minnesota.

Minnesota’s 2020 recruiting class is now up to 25 hard commits. The Gophers rank eighth in the B1G and No. 31 nationally during this recruiting cycle.

The Gophers finished the 2019 season with a 10-2 record and will take on Auburn in the Outback Bowl.
